Overview

Elder Greta keeps the peace between the clans that farm and fly out of Windmere Farms. She has no army and wants none; her authority is that every clan chief has, at some point, owed her a favour. When a dispute threatens to turn into a feud she sends for someone neutral and puts a mediator’s token in their hand.

She is the Strider’s way into clan politics: supply runs to cut-off villages, the Stormrider–Deephollow salvage dispute, the corrupted grove on the farm’s edge, and finally the attempt to unite the clans.

Appearance

Late sixties, weathered by wind and sun. Silver-grey hair in a thick braid, a heavy wool shawl pinned with a silver clan disc. Looks troubled more often than not, and kind even so.
